Skyward Group, a specialty insurance organisation whose operating businesses include Skyward Specialty Insurance Group, Inc. and Apollo Group Holdings Ltd., has announced a planned change in its senior financial leadership, with current Chief Financial Officer Mark Haushill set to retire next year.
Haushill will retire from his position on 31 March 2027, bringing to an end more than a decade with the organisation. He will remain involved with the company as a Senior Advisor through the end of 2027 to help support the transition and ensure continuity within its finance function.
Taryn McHarg, currently Chief Financial Officer of Apollo and Deputy CFO of Skyward Group, has been selected to succeed Haushill. She will assume the Skyward Group CFO role following his retirement.
Haushill’s departure comes after a period of substantial development for the organisation. During his more than 10 years with the company, he has played a role in a number of significant financial and corporate milestones as Skyward has expanded its position in the specialty insurance market.
According to Skyward Group, those milestones include the company’s initial public offering in 2023, improvements to its capital structure and financial strength, including its AM Best financial rating, and the acquisition of Apollo, which was completed in January 2026.

Skyward Group CEO Andrew Robinson commented: “Mark has been an exceptional partner and a pillar in Skyward’s journey and success. His friendship, spirit, and genuine caring for the Skyward team is palpable, and his impact will be felt for years to come. I speak for our entire organisation and the Skyward Board in thanking Mark and expressing our deep gratitude for his contributions and the lasting impact he has had on our organisation.”
Robinson said: “At the same time, we are excited to have Taryn step into this role.” He added: “Taryn is a deeply experienced and skilled executive, whose instincts and expertise will be invaluable to our success as we take the next turn in the Skyward Group journey.”
Skyward Group described McHarg as bringing a combination of financial management experience, strategic expertise, operational knowledge and insurance industry experience to the position.
McHarg has led Apollo’s finance function as CFO for more than four years. Before joining Apollo, she spent nine years with BUPA, where she advanced to become CFO of international markets. She also spent seven years at Ernst & Young earlier in her career.
McHarg stated: “I am honoured to take on this role at such an important point in Skyward Group’s evolution. The combination of Skyward Specialty and Apollo has created a stronger, more diversified organization with significant strategic opportunities ahead. I look forward to working with our teams to build on the strong foundation Mark and the broader finance organisation have established and to continue delivering long-term value for our shareholders.”
Skyward Group said the appointment of an internal successor is intended to provide continuity as the organisation moves forward following the integration of Apollo.
Robinson continued: “Our thoughtful transition of the CFO to such a high-quality internal successor in Taryn reflects the strength of our executive talent and our commitment to building a company for the long term.”
